Ruby Protocol: A Look Ahead at 2022
Dear Rubies,
As we kick off the New Year, we want to share with you a high level plan for Ruby and what lies ahead. Preserving individual privacy remains a core value of our team, and supporting this will play out through 2022.
In Q1-Q2 we will continue to build on the foundation we established in 2021, with a focus on growing our tech stack, launching our testnet, engaging in partnerships, and creating a developer adoption program.
In 2021 we completed Milestone 1 of our Web3 Foundation Ecosystem Grant and will complete Milestone 2 this quarter. Milestone 2 is the Client Implementation and Integration, and the deliverables include:
- Client trigger of the cryptographic modules and the micropayment scheme
- Necessary UI to enable the users to interact with all cryptographic modules and the micropayment scheme
We will also focus on community growth, sharing ways you can get involved and contribute to Ruby. This will include expanding our community Discord and launching an Ambassador Program!
Our core team will grow as well, with additional Marketing, BD, Operations, and Dev resources. So be on the lookout for our job postings if you think that you would be a good fit for the team!
The Ruby website will be refreshed, adding additional resources and functionality.
In Q3, our goal is to deploy on the Polkadot Network via a Parachain slot and launch the $RUBY token. We will raise the funds needed for the Parachain Auction via a crowdloan. So Rubies, we will need all of your support for this and will roll out our reward program as we get closer to the date. Also, an initial deployment on Kusama may be part of the larger plan, as it would allow us to optimize the Ruby Protocol before deploying on Polkadot.

About Us
Ruby Protocol is a cross-chain, privacy-first infrastructure, powered by Polkadot. Our layer-1 protocol utilizes Functional Encryption (FE) cryptography, which allows users to adopt a modular approach to data privacy and ownership. This novel solution will allow users to encrypt sensitive information on-chain, which can only be decrypted by holders of an approved private key.
Ruby’s FE Substrate-pallet will serve as the building blocks for privacy-first smart contract DApps building on the native Ruby Chain, while also acting as a privacy layer for Parachains and Web3 DApps across the Polkadot ecosystem.
