Ruby Protocol Monthly Review — March 2022
Fellow Rubies,
Let us start by apologizing for the delay in our Monthly Project Update! However, we have been hard at work behind the curtain, and with this March Review comes some fantastic news and developments. Let’s dive in!
Ruby Protocol, in March, mainly focused on internal optimization. This consisted of streamlining workflows, refining our global team, and bringing in additional talent to help make the project building more efficient.
This monthly review will focus on a new chapter in Ruby Protocol.
Introducing Our New General Manager
We are excited to introduce our new General Manager, Mindaugas Savickas, who will bring his extensive knowledge of marketing, management, and branding to Ruby Protocol and help streamline the business’s day-to-day operations and manage and expand our decentralized team.
Mindaugas has 12 years of management & successful marketing leadership. He devised and executed numerous strategic and hands-on marketing solutions for global brands and tech startups in the United States, EU, LATAM, and Southeast Asia.
Mindaugas comes with direct experience & ties to web3. He previously served as a marketing executive & advisor and managed multiple teams that secured millions in funding across his management portfolio. He is also the co-founder of two successful projects, InvArch (An IP Ownership, Utility & Cross-Chain Authentication Protocol) and Sukhavati Labs (a decentralized cloud service network focused on storage).
As a self-motivated learner, Mindaugas has been refining his marketing and growth techniques by working with some of the best minds in the world in different seminars and programs. He also engaged in active volunteering for four years to guide and consult young professionals from all over the world and established an extensive network of resources.
Mindaugas’s primary task is to lead, manage and expand the Ruby Protocol team, and he will be focusing in the near term on:
- Shaping the Work Environment
Every team has its particular work environment, which can dictate its future performance. As General Manager, Mindaugas will work on setting the tone for Ruby Protocol’s working style in how to respond to problems and opportunities.
- Creating Strategies
Mindaugas will commit the entire organization to one or a set of particular strategies, which he will work to formulate. His goal is to achieve the overall project vision: bringing Privacy-as-a-Service to the Web3 world.
- Day-to-day Operations
Mindaugas will oversee Ruby Protocol’s daily operations, including content creation, social media marketing, partnership building, technical development, and managing the ROI of all external campaigns.
We are sure that with Mindaugas’ previous experience and professional skill-set, Ruby Protocol will be well suited to deliver consistent results.
Expanding Ruby Protocol Team
Ruby Protocol is planning to expand its talent pool!
Like any great project, it is necessary to sort the right talent to help us deliver the key results that will push us toward the milestones set out in our roadmap. With new team member acquisitions, we believe we will be able to meet the increasing demands for preserving privacy for the builders and users of Web3.
If you are passionate about building Web3, care about privacy preservation, and are conversant with at least one aspect of this space, you might be the right candidate. Please send your cover letter and resume in English to info@ruby.io.
Tyler’s New Role
Today, we are also announcing that one of our Co-founders, Tyler Gellatly, will be shifting in his role with the project to Strategic Advisor. Tyler will continue to leverage his expertise in building and operating start-ups across both web2 and web3, to support Ruby’s mission of bringing privacy at scale to the web3 space.
From the very beginning, Tyler has worked diligently to push Ruby to achieve great results, both in bootstrapping Ruby, crafting the project vision, and building early momentum across all business units as our Chief Operating Officer. We’d like to thank him for his time and work in an operational role.
With this change, Tyler will be focused on advising the operational team on high-level strategic decision-making, which we believe will be invaluable as we continue to build our vision for Ruby Protocol.
Upcoming Updates
- Website Revamp
A new chapter merits a new look. And first impressions count!
We are confident that the new Ruby Protocol website will have a unique visual appearance that allows our visitors to easily understand why we are building this project.
- New Teaser Video
We are working on a new animated video that perfectly illustrates what Ruby Protocol can do for web3 users. This will cement our place in the growing web3 privacy project sector.
We believe our new teaser video will convey the right message to our visitors, and to re-introduce Ruby Protocol in its newest chapter.
- Web3 Foundation Grants Program
We are now close to the final delivery of Milestone 2 of our Web3 Grant. During the last few weeks, we have fixed all the issues mentioned by our reviewers. We are confident that the Milestone 2 delivery will be accepted very shortly. Stay tuned!
About Us
Ruby Protocol is a cross-chain, privacy-first infrastructure, powered by Polkadot. Our layer-1 protocol utilizes Functional Encryption (FE) cryptography, which allows users to adopt a modular approach to data privacy and ownership. This novel solution will allow users to encrypt sensitive information on-chain, which can only be decrypted by holders of an approved private key.
Ruby’s FE Substrate-pallet will serve as the building blocks for privacy-first smart contract DApps building on the native Ruby Chain, while also acting as a privacy layer for Parachains and Web3 DApps across the Polkadot ecosystem.
