What A Month!!

We believe the crypto community is finally waking up and we can attribute this waking-up partly to the sullen market, which already drives out the fickle and tourists and also pushes the real builders to build real products to address the real-world scenarios. And of course we cannot downplay the ingenuity of the crypto community.

The recent discussions about Account Abstraction and Incent-Centric is a perfect example of this trend.

Now that we have an ample supply of cheap and secure blockspace, protocol and infra sides of crypto are… solved problems. There is surely plenty left to do here, but exploring and settling this frontier has turned into a science. The frontier of crypto protocol development, for the first time in crypto’s history, is at a level of maturity that allows us to see the endgame.

So now, with all of those big hard problems behind us… won’t somebody PLEASE build some apps?

What we have accomplished in September 2023 can be summarized in one meme, expressing our anger against the obsolete crypto ideologies and desires for a breath of fresh air in the blockchain world.

Ruby One V2 Launch

We decided to level up Ruby One, our MPC wallet, to V2 after a 2-month testrun.

In response to our communities, we have fixed the following issues our community encountered in the previous version.

  • Display errors
  • Test token issues
  • UX/UI design errors
  • Transaction failures
  • Web2 connection error

Ruby One V2 is now equipped with more advanced features that bring user-friendliness to a new level. It now supports the following functionalities:

  • Secure login via email
  • Contract Account creation via email
  • Password retrieval via email codes
  • Instructions to change your password

Furthermore, Social Recovery will generate and send an email to the specified mailbox using the new MPC private key and Contract Account information. When everything checks out, the account’s owner will be updated to the new private key.

Ruby One V2 now includes an advanced social recovery scheme, which we believe is critical for its widespread adoption because it simplifies account recovery, reduces the risk of permanent asset loss, boosts user confidence, broadens the user base, improves security, and complies with regulatory requirements.

We are confident that it will make cryptocurrencies more accessible and user-friendly, making them a more appealing option for a broader range of people and, as a result, driving adoption.

Ruby Protocol V3 Upgrade

Without further ado, let us introduce you to the brand new Ruby Protocol, which is now positioned as an Intent-Centric Account & Access Layer for Web3.

We are building an intent-centric, interoperable, and privacy-preserving infrastructure for Web3 future. Our services, including Account Abstraction (AA), Assets Bridge (AB), Access Control (AC) and much more, are designed to accelerate Web3 development and its mass adoption.

We aim to make Web3 seamless and effortless to everyone everywhere.

The rationale behind this decision is fairly straightforward. Moving on, we, as a community, must ask ourselves what the future Web3 must look like for blockchain, crypto, data sovereignty, distributed networks, and Web3 to establish footholds in the technical landscape of the future and people’s everyday lives.

And if we fail to imagine or design functionalities that enable that, the promise we made might never get delivered.

Instead of adhering to outdated ideologies, a “intent-centric” approach means putting users at the center of their crypto experiences. This is a significant departure from the previous model. Building a future-proof infrastructure that respects user intent and privacy ensures our project’s long-term viability, and investors frequently seek projects with a clear roadmap for sustained growth and relevance.

We believe we outlined our reasoning clearly in the recent article release. Please check it out 👇 and let us know your thoughts in our communities.

Ruby Protocol Docs Updated — V2 User Guide

Same as Ruby One, its user guide is now leveled up to V2 too. Better, Easier & More Powerful. This V2 version comes with new materials on:

  • Ruby One V2 Upgrade Log
  • Login Via Email Instructions

Partnership Building

It will be the same every time we describe our efforts to build a robust Ruby Protocol partnership ecosystem. Collaboration and networking are critical if we are to reach the next millions of users. The strategic partnerships we’ve been presenting to our communities since the project’s inception are all official agreements between other parties and us to collaborate to provide best-in-class services for crypto users and newcomers from the old Web2 world.

We are making Web3 accessible to everyone, everywhere, with Ruby’s 30+ partners.

We began lengthy discussions with the following projects in September to explore opportunities for reciprocal partnerships and to create an inclusive and accessible environment for new users.

No single entity can address all of the challenges and opportunities in the complex and rapidly evolving landscape of Web3 technologies. Partnerships enable the integration of diverse expertise, technologies, and user bases, ensuring that the infrastructure remains user-focused as well as adaptable. Finally, these strategic alliances are our small but steady steps toward a more unified, secure, and user-centric Web3 ecosystem.

With ZNS Connect, we aim to work together to streamline user experience and drive web3 adoption.

With DREP, a DeFi Credit Protocol, we look forward to integrating their solutions to Ruby’s ecosystem, particularly in Ruby One to allow more innovative user cases and unlock value for our MPC wallet users.

Midle is an user acquisition and retention platform built for Web3. With them, we aim to continue growing Ruby Protoocl’s communities and reach and educate more people on how easy crypto should be.

Taskon needs no introduction in Web3. We believe this official partnership means we are one step closer to building a massive community and welcoming a new group of users to try out Ruby’s solutions set, including Account Abstraction (AA), Assets Bridge (AB), Access Control (AC) and much more.

Community Building

Leveraging Web3 growth campaigns on different platforms in September has proven instrumental in our community-building efforts. Through targeted marketing, educational content, and engagement initiatives, we’ve not only attracted new users but also fostered a sense of belonging and trust within our community.

The most important achievement in September is the significant increase in active users across our different communities.
