Thirteen years (5,000 days) into the creation of bitcoin, we still struggle to grasp what blockchain and cryptocurrency really represent. People are always on the hunt for the killer mega app that will bring mass adoption to crypto but fail to understand the most critical aspect of this movement.

We believe the decade-long crypto movement might be the biggest, most comprehensive and technical experiment on privacy, responsibility, and freedom. It is happening via blockchain and cryptocurrency. It enthralls the world’s attention because, for the first time in human history, people are in complete control of what they own and therefore carry 100% responsibility for their actions.

We believe bitcoin is the inception point, where it starts to challenge people’s beliefs over the power of individual sovereignty, what constitutes private property ownership, and what the government should control in your life.

The Web2 Mode / Price of Speed and Convenience

Today’s users are still content with the speed and efficiency of Web2 services. They are so comfortable that when moving to Web3 services, they are not used to the amount of diligence and responsibility they have to muster to enjoy a meaningful life in the Web3 world.

Many people are still in Web2 because they want to stay in the matrix where they’re being controlled. After all, it’s easier. They say they are tired of tracking devices and phishing emails, but they lack the courage to perform what is needed from them to avoid them fundamentally.

The Web2 mode is only telling you to click Yes, and then someone else is going to deal with all of your problems. In a free market, such services are all good and well. However, we at Ruby Protocol don’t think this is how you become free, financially and spiritually.

Ultimately, we choose the lifestyle we want to have, and most imprisonments, essentially, result from a lack of courage to be free.
Sometimes, we cannot change the status quo because we are determined unconsciously not to make a change. We probably think it will be easier not to make a change because we are familiar with the road most traveled. In other words, it is easier and safer to maintain the status quo even if we are not satisfied with your current situation.

The Web3 Mode / Responsibility & Privacy And Freedom

To us, taking responsibility is the only way you become free. Ultimately, freedom results in more robust privacy and demands more responsibilities. These three concepts aren’t just interrelated, but they are interdependent. As you increase freedom, you increase responsibilities and privacy, and when you decrease your level of freedom, you put them at risk as well.

Most people in today’s society see crypto as just another way to make easy money. However, they fail to understand that it can give them greater control over their assets, data, and identity and provide them with financial freedom.

Looking through the “some things you need to know section” on most bitcoin websites, you are constantly reminded of the importance of responsibility when it comes to protecting your privacy and funds.

At Ruby Protocol, we are responsible for building a private data management framework for Web 3.0 that proposes and implements a privacy layer interacting with the multi-chain ecosystem. We consider this project the starting point for reclaiming our privacy and freedom.

And it is your responsibility to use the right tools to protect your privacy and freedom.

About Us

Ruby Protocol is a cross-chain, privacy-first infrastructure, powered by Polkadot. Our layer-1 protocol utilizes Functional Encryption (FE) cryptography, which allows users to adopt a modular approach to data privacy and ownership. This novel solution will allow users to encrypt sensitive information on-chain, which can only be decrypted by holders of an approved private key.

Ruby’s FE Substrate-pallet will serve as the building blocks for privacy-first smart contract DApps building on the native Ruby Chain, while also acting as a privacy layer for Parachains and Web3 DApps across the Polkadot ecosystem.
