Ruby Protocol Twitter Account Update

We at Ruby Protocol are deeply disappointed by the lack of support and user protection offered by Twitter/X.

As a verified organization with paid features on the platform (@RubyProtocol), we faced a bizarre situation that highlighted this centralized system’s deep flaws.

On January 28th, 2024, at 2:30 AM UTC, after a simple profile update, our account was abruptly locked in a never-ending “consent-flow loop.”

Note: To honor transparency, we informed all our investors and partners about this ongoing struggle with Twitter and asked for help and advice on how to solve it. However, none worked.

Please know that this loop/bug has been occurring repeatedly, and it can be backdated to 2022. Our research tells us that it has been affecting many accounts, including ours, worldwide, sporadically, since 2022.

Despite our persistent efforts — over 200 tickets, emails, requests, and countless messages sent to Twitter support — the issue remains unresolved.

This lack of action is unacceptable.

And the communication from Twitter support was very robotic and frustrating.

This might be the worst support team the internet has ever seen.

Right now, we believe our valuable resources are better allocated to developing innovative solutions for Web3 than battling the failing infrastructure of an outdated Web2 platform.

Therefore, we’re officially migrating to a new Twitter account, @RubyLabs_xyz, which will serve as the primary channel for all future updates and announcements. We kindly ask our community to follow this new account to stay connected.

This experience underscores the crucial importance of decentralization. Centralized power, when unchecked, can be abused, leaving users vulnerable and voiceless. Here at Ruby Protocol, we’re building the future of Web3: an ecosystem based on user empowerment, secure access, and privacy.

Join us as we break free from the shackles of centralized control and collectively build a more equitable and transparent Web3 future.
